Depression Test

The Depression Questionnaire (PHQ-9) is a reliable and reputable tool used worldwide to detect symptoms of depression. The questions allow for both the existence and severity of the mental disorder to be established. In response to the 9 questions below, you will receive an update on the possible presence and severity of the symptoms of depression, as well as a brief explanation of the results.

Depression is a complex problem and the screening resulting from the questionnaire is not sufficient for its complete diagnosis. Further examination by a psychologist/psychiatrist is necessary for the official diagnosis of depressive disorder.

The Depression Questionnaire (PHQ-9) was developed by Kroenke & Spitzer as a screening tool and severity indicator for depression. It is noted that screening tools are not sufficient on their own to diagnose depression, but indicate the need for a more thorough clinical assessment, in order to determine whether the individual meets the diagnostic criteria for the disease.
